15 Ways Sugar Is Making You Sick
Everybody's got their poison, and mine is SUGAR- Derrick Rose.
We all love eating sugary stuff right?? Who doesn't? But have any of you stopped to consider how harmful it is for our body in a long term. Some of us try to eat less sugar, or exercise to burn it away, but does that really work so well? Not really.
No matter how many preventive measures you take, you will always miss something. You think, if I use Sugarfree or artificial sweeteners or just fruit smoothies, it will be fine. But....the scenario is actually pretty different from what you are imagining.
And then there are some, who do not even care how much sugar they intake, but that's for another day and I am going off topic!!
Sugar has a lot of corrosive effects on our body and this article is to shed some light on them.
- It hurts your heart: According to Dr. K. K. Talwar, the head of Delhi's Max Super Specialty Hospital, the biggest sugar consumers are far more likely to develop conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease and high cholesterol levels.
- "No sugar added" doesn't mean healthy: Even if the drink has no added sweeteners, its naturally occurring sugars are far more concentrated than you'd find in a piece of fruit.
- Excess sugar is linked to dementia
- Sugar won't make kids hyper, it's worse than that: Dr Archana Dayal, a pediatric endocrinologist at the Institute of Child Health in Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital says "It leads to poor health in short term and obesity in long term"
- Stealth sugar stows away in snacks: Foods like health drinks, salad dressing, oatmeal or muesli and yogurt often have more sugar than you'd imagine.
- Sugar messes with our cholesterol.
- Sugar may keep us at night.
- Cancer cells "feed" on sugar.
- Sugar can make you sad: Ending a bad day with a bowl of ice cream may make you feel worse in the long run.
- It destroys your skin: Apart from aggravating skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema, it causes hyperpigmentation and destroys collagen, resulting in duller, looser skin and wrinkles.
- Sweets are worse than salt for hypertension.
- Sugar is as bad for your liver as alcohol.
- Sweet treats ruin your teeth.
- .... and makes your gums bleed.
- You might be addicted: Studies show that sweets stuff elevates levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine, which forms a key part of the brain's reward and pleasure centers in a way that is remarkably similar to the effects of tobacco and morphine.

Wow, that was certainly an overload of bad news guys!! No more large amount of sugar for you. It makes me think " so it doesn't matter if I don't drink or smoke, sugar is still there to kill me!!".
I am going to make sure to reduce my sugar intake after this, what about you?? Do you still want to eat sweets after knowing the harm it will cause you?
